Inputting Data for Aggregate Measures
Learning Objectives
- Load data for parent and child measures
Loading data to an aggregate measure can be broken down into two steps.
Step 1: The parent measure owner clicks on Edit Values and then opens the aggregate date period. These can be added ahead of time, but it is recommended that only one period is open at a time.
Step 2: Each child measure owner inputs their data into their measure and connects it to a specific aggregation date via a drop-down list.
If a child measure owner does not see the aggregation period they need, the parent has not created it. Even if the parent owner has not created the aggregate date period, the child owner can still input their data. They will not be allowed to do the final step of relating the data to a specific aggregation period. The child measure owner will need to do the final connection once their parent owner has done their part.
Results helps you track whether all the data is in for a specific period in the List view. Note if more than one aggregation period is open, the tracker applies to the status of the most recent period vs the oldest period.
If a new aggregate reporting period is open with no data, an empty circle will appear.
If some of the children have reported data, a check mark will be in the center of the circle, but the circle will be white.
If all the children have reported their data, the circle will have the check mark, plus the circle will be shaded a dark grey.
